Why a new website?
A Biblical rationale for the new website
1 Corinthians 13:23 says, “If therefore, the whole church comes together and all speak in tongues and outsiders or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are out of your minds?” This short post has nothing to do with tongues, prophecy, or anything like that. It has to do with how we, as Christians, give consideration to non-christians and those outside the Church. The Apostle Paul is saying that Christians need to be sensitive to the presence of non-christians and, to some degree, we need to do what we can to accommodate non-christians.
A church’s web presence is the first place where non-christians interact with that church. Most visitors to CPC visit our website first and our worship services second. Inquirers, and those wanting to know more about who we are and what we believe, almost always “check us out” through our website. Thus, this new design is our attempt to be sensitive and accommodating. We want our website to look good and be as well thought out as the other websites that people encounter on a daily basis.
Hopefully, the members and regular attenders of CPC will also find this new website more visually appealing, easier to navigate, and more intentional with information. Look around. Take note of new features. And keep in mind the missional motivation for our new site.
